What People Are Saying About French Quarter Cafe

In Short – French Quarter Cafe complements its Cajun cuisine with some of the best blues and Southern-fried rock in town on its two stages. The lower level features theme events like writers' nights, while the ample upstairs stage features everything from swing and Americana to house bands. Four suspended TVs provide post-meal distractions. The venue is exceedingly laid-back, with Mardi Gras-like decorations year-round, and the relatively early start to the live music caters to Nashville's early-to-bed, early-to-rise weeknight crowd.
Nashville's most under rated LIVE music venue...Great food as well......
by jessicasdadsings
Ok folks, this is one of the HOTTEST venues for live music in Nashville!! I can't believe this place! The acoustics are AMAZING!! Over the past few months I've been there 3-4 times to see some freinds of mine play, The Jon Grisham Band. If you have not seen these guys, you are missing out.....and Dennis, the owner who is also the sound man, makes them sound even better with his professional sound board work!! The ambience is great with dim mood lighting and the menu is worth a try as well. If you want authentic cajun food without having to travel to Louisiana or the Mississippi Delta, you need to get your butt down to The French Quarter Cafe and check this place out. It's a restraunt so all ages are welcome. On some live music nights there is a small cover charge but it's WELL worth the minimal fee to enjoy some of Nashville's finest live music and great food too! HIGHLY RECCOMENDED!!!! GREAT job Dennis!!!! Keep up the good work!!!!
- Pros: Great live music, acoustis are amazing, awesome food, good service
- Cons: parking
First time back in awhile had a great time

I was there on a Friday night and had a great time! I had not been there in some time and was really surprised at the great service and food. The band was excellent well I'll say bands it was a Bellmont Univ. writtters night and all where very good. Our server was a really nice young girl whom I complimeted on the bar and her service she told me that there was some changes being made and that there was a new manager there to help put all in place, she also infrmed me that there was going to be a grand re-opening soon and invited me to go to their web site and sign up so I will receive an invitation. Overall very relaxed and enjoyable.
Never Open during posted hours-Food OUTRAGEOUSLY priced
by soonerfanintn
I have gone there several times thinking maybe daylight savngs time didnt exist in their world...but when the sign says we open at 5 pm and its 6:30 , 7:15, 7:45 then you have to wonder what the hell time do they open....??? I went by there the other night and some guy was on a cell phone trying to do business with the owner and they were closed and the owner couldnt be found....what a way to do business......Everyone says the food is over priced, IT IS and its rarely all that good.I have enjoyed the music but after 3 tries and they cant be open within 3 hours of their posted time then I'm OUT...way too many clubs on 12th ave over near green hills that open on time EVERYTIME , have good music and decent food prices
also the last time I was there a bouncer (maybe the owner) was giving a band a hard time also and the band left....so much for character
- Pros: Good Music
- Cons: Never open on time, rough neighborhood, rude employees
