STILL UNACCEPTABLE. Just be advised that this restaurant DID NOT pass reinspection. How could they not?? To be such a "high class" place? It makes me mad they they charge people high prices for their food yet they don't can't or WON'T keep their food up to the standards people have. It's disgusting.
Over Hyped. I ate at the Palm last night as it was my girlfriend's birthday. I did enjoy the valet parking as it is hard to find parking downtown. However, once inside the noise level was tremendous. We ended up having to sit on the same side of the table to hear each other. The food was very good, but not worth the price. If I am going to pay $30 plus for a steak, I expect it to be incredible. For a place that promotes the quality of their steaks, the were no better than a meal at the Outback and Ruth Chris or Flemmings have better taste. The waiters were far from personable and did not smile at all. Then they were out of a vegetable and substitued another (without asking) and then charged us for it. All in all, if you like eating decent, overpriced food in the noise level of a Titan's game then this is the restaruant for you. If you want a nice, quiet restaraunt where the food quality is comparable to the price then choose elsewhere.
NOT THE PLACE TO GO.
We chose this restaurant as we frequent this restaurant several times a year!!!!!
But no more. My money spends good elsewhere!!!
I have had enough.
The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, the noise factor was such that we could not converse with one another.
We made reservations in advance but they stick you in a room with the masses (basically the no bodies)
Waiter could not smile if he was forced to.
WE ARE DONE WITH THIS PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!
We had a great experience at The Palm. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at the Palm. I was a little leary after reading other reviews. But, I have to say that the service was excellent, food was great, and the atmosphere was nice. We started off with an appetizer of Portobello mushrooms which was awesome. We had the Lobster dinner for two which was wonderful. It is a bit pricey but it was a celebration and we don't normally spend that much on a meal anyway. I have nothing negative to say about The Palm.....I would recommend it.
Not impressed.. For all the hype and the social agenda of The Palm, I personally was not impressed. We had dinner there with three other couples and I can say the service was good and we had a great time because of the company. For the prices I would have expected the quality and originality of the food to be much better. For the price there are many more restaurants with more personality and flavor. I will say I was introduced to Chocolate Martinis at The Palm (they do have an excellent Chocolate Martini!) and I am now hooked on this delicious cocktail!
very good - but don't come for the steaks.... great ambiance, great fish and salads... love the lighting - love the service BUT the red meat is very ordinary. still, it's probably the best italian in nashville...
Avoid Groups.
I took a group of 11 to the Palms this past Friday and certainly regretting exposing my out of town guest to such terrible service and a horribly loud restaurant. The service was extremely slow and not attentive - needless to say that several of the meals were delivered cold but by that time, we didn't dare send them back for additional delays. The Palms is advertised as an upscale steakhouse that rewards high-profile patrons but at our table, even adjacent table members could not carry on a conversation with an 'inside voice'. I have had more intimate meals (with warm food) at the Lone Star.
Frankly, our reservation should have been rejected as the restaurant was clearly over their capacity. Needless to say, never again would I attempt a small group at The Palms
Very Disappointed. We chose this restaurant to celebrate our 1st Anniversary, we were very dissappointed! The food had no flavor, My husband had a strip steak and we have had better steaks at Outback or Longhorn for 1/4 of the price. The potatoes were oily and flavorless. The atmosphere leaves much to be desired, the walls are covered with charictures of famous and not so famous people. The restaurant is loud. All in all we would NOT recommend this for ANY occassion.
Don't get it. Have been to this restaurant a number of times on company sponsored dinners, and I have been consistently unimpressed with the food. Maybe they don't serve as good a food for large groups, but why would I go back if that is the case?
User review by rebeccacraft. Were seated immediately and courteously. Service was timely, attentive, friendly and fun. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and tasty. Martini's were very good. As we were not extremely hungry past the martini's, shrimp (okay we had a second order they were so good) and lively converstation, we opted to share a steak which the kitchen cut into slices, which upon first sight looked divine and perfectly cooked, and tasted just as it looked. Had a very nice time. Great place to see and be seen in Nashville by names everyone knows. Any time you ask for a recommendation of where to dine in Nashville the Palm is always on the list.
