What People Are Saying About Bobbie's Dairy Dip

In Short – This popular old drive-in box receives a steady stream of lunchers and passers-by. The 100-percent certified Angus beef double-patty could feed an entire family. Belgian-style potatoes get the double-fryer dip and coarse salt for great texture. Park your car, order from one window and pick it up at the other when they call your name. Most customers grab and go, but there's ample, shaded picnic-bench seating on the side.
Editor's Tips
- Know Before You Go:
- Dieters beware: The soft-serve ice cream has a butterfat content at a smooth, heart-stopping 10 percent.
- When to Go:
- The hours are often extended from the time school gets out in May to when it starts up again in September.
The employees have no sense of customer service or manners!

I just left their tonight angry as I could be. I stood there and asked about a couple of menu items as the girls behind the window ignored me over and over again. I finally asked if they were taking orders at that window and was told the kitchen was closed. I was angry when I walked away thinking they could have told me that when I asked about the food. As I walked away I could hear them laughing. When I looked they were looking out the window at me laughing and giving each other high fives. I decided to tell the manager about it. She was the most smart assed person in there as she had an answer for everything. "They are happy to be working", she said. And then told me the kitchen closes an hour before the stand closes. It was 8:20 pm. She even gave me this look like I was weird for saying something about the girls actions. These people are the definition of West Nashville trash. If they don't care how their employees act, what does that say about how they prepare their food. I WILL NEVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS AGAIN!
Worst Service Ever!

It has been almost a year since my one and only visit to Bobbie's Dairy Dip, and I'm still as angry as I was then. Maybe writing this review will help.
My husband and I had finally decided to try Bobbie's Dairy Dip after living in Nashville for a couple of years. From the outside, it appeared to be a fun place to eat with the bright, happy colors all around. However, we quickly saw how looks can be deceiving...
I ordered a grilled CHICKEN sandwich but received a grilled CHEESE sandwich. When I tried to return my order by saying I had ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, I was told "No, you didn't. You ordered a grilled cheese sandwich." I was then informed that I would have to order an additional sandwich in order to get what I had ordered in the first place.
I have never encountered such rude staff at any other restaurant in Nashville or elsewhere. Yes, the place is cute, but it looks just as cute when I drive right past it and go somewhere with decent service.
- Pros: Cute atmosphere
- Cons: Extremely poor service/okay but overpriced food
Horrible Service

Living in Nashville for close two years, we have been loyal Bobbie's Dairy Dip customers for almost as long. Stopped by on our way home from the store on a hot spring day to get some shakes and cheese fries. After 40 minutes and still no food or drinks we finally asked for our money back.
The place was packed, so it's understandable that there is a short wait, but this was ridiculous. To add insult to injury, many of the staff's friends showed up and started chatting with the servers. It was surprising how quickly these people received their food. People in line behind us got their fries before us and yet we still had "a huge order in front" of ours.
Bobbie's receives a two solely based on my past experiences before tonight. However, they will never receive my business in the future.
- Pros: Food (if you get it...)
- Cons: the Service
love this place!

I came to Bobbie's for the first time today, and I gotta say it's one of the best and funnest places to eat in Nashville! I had one of their cheeseburgers, and it tasted better than any other I've had in town. And my husband really enjoyed his burger with melted bleu cheese. All the ingredients were fresh and the patties were juicy and cooked to perfection. I came back for a strawberry shortcake for dessert, and it was amazing! REAL homemade shortcake, not that spongey-cake stuff! And the ice cream was the richest soft serve I've ever tasted. I asked the girl there and she said they use their own special blend. All the staff there seemed friendly and knowledgeable about their products and the history of the store. I always see long lines outside Bobbie's and now I know why! I will be coming back many times! This place is worth it!
- Pros: I love the atmosphere here! It's a vintage place without being campy. The music they play is great and fun!
- Cons: Can seem a little expensive, but the quality of the food makes up for it. This is definitely strides above fast food!
BOBBIE'S IS AMAZING
by Samantha797 at Citysearch
Bobbie's Dairy Dip is one of the most fantastic restaurants in Nashville... and I've eaten at a lot of restaurants here. Here's what they have (at least that I remember, they have an impressively extensive menu for being a walk-up and order kind of establishment): burgers, hot dogs, amazing grilled cheese with tomatoes, fries (regular and sweet potato), onion rings, milkshakes beyond your wildest dreams, vegetarian-friendly burgers, a medley of ice creams, and chili in the cold season. Aside from the food, the atmosphere is unbeatable; they have neon ceiling fans and picnic tables... seriously, that's cute.
- Pros: Food, atmosphere, general ambience of the establishment
- Cons: A little pricey... and since everything is made fresh, there's a long wait for food (understandable, but uncomfortable on those hot summer days)
