Not a Chain - Not Pretentious - Just Great. My wife and I visit Marinas almost every week- we have a love affair with this place! Mini pizzas, calzones, baked salmon, and the spinach appetizer are among our favorites. The staff is absolutely wonderful. The atmosphere is that of a little local joint with no pretensions- just a desire to provide good food and keep you happy. Kitchen and dining room are connected, so you can hear all the action! It gets a little busy on weekends, but leave your cell # with the hostess and walk 2 doors down for a cocktail at Wall Street.
Would Highly Recommend. I've eaten here several times, and every visit has been a pleasant one. Italian is my favorite food, so I am a scrutinizer. I've had the manicotti, baked ziti, and eggplant parm. They've all been wonderful! Nothing you could buy in a store :) The tiramisu is awesome as well! Don't remember the service previously - if it were negative I'd remember - but this last time was great. Definitely recommend. Only thing I don't like is the wait time to get a table.
recommended. Some of the reviews of this place had me a little nervous about trying it but try it I did and my fears were allayed. The food is very good although not outstanding. The calzones are highly recommended though. Marina's is extremely crowded on weekends but this is a good sign in a restaurant. There were a couple of service glitches during my visit but the staff was very friendly. Overall I can definitely recommend Marina's. FYI: they are closed Sunday and Monday.
Disappointed. After reading a great review in one of the local magazines I was excited about going here. Everything on the menu sounds appealing. I couldnt decide so got the combination platter. This selection was 13.95 and very overpriced for a spoonful of fettucine, one THIN slice of fried eggplant (without even any pasta with it) and 2 small stuffed shells. The eggplant was awful. A salad came with it but consisted of the yellow lettuce from the middle of the head. The bread was fresh but bland. Overall, I was disappointed with my meal. But my spouse had calzone that looked and tasted great. We may try this place again but I would not recommend the combo platter or the eggplant dishes. Also, the kitchen staff was so loud at times we couldnt even have a conversation with each other. The server was friendly but slow and not very attentive.
Like Stouffer's?. I would suggest Marina's to someone who doesn't really care for authentic Italian. Their lasagna is Stouffer's and I think they overprice it when you look at how much it sells for at the grocery store. But really, their salads are excellent and I would suggest Marina's for a lite lunch
