Absolutely Awful. This place is terrible. The food/dessert is rarely fresh and outrageously priced. The staff seems like they hate their lives. The bathrooms are filthy and lack any sort of decor. Every few months I brave to go in, there's a new manager. I've left Provence disappointed every time.

Gone way downhill. I have been going to Provence in Hillsboro Village since I first lived in the area 10 years ago. Even when I moved out of the area, I continued to patronize them for the wonderful pastries and sandwiches.

But there's not getting away from the fact, it has gone downhill in terms of service. Since I work downtown, I stop by early in the morning to grab a mocha. More then twice, I have been in the parking lot anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes after 7 am. and they have not yet opened. I emailed, and got a gracious response to come by and try them again. Went by the same day, and still, not open at 7:10. Had to go

Went by the other day to try their scrambled eggs and grits. Since I have to be downtown at 8am, I stopped by around 7:18, thinking great, only one or two other customers, already seated with their coffee. When I got to the counter to order, and placed my order, the young lady behind the counter, both arms tatooted from wrist to elbow, looked at me in blank dismay, and then looked at the other employee who told me that the chef was not in yet, and had not written the menu board. They assured me I could have a pastry instead.

Provence, sadly, is not run as if someone values their customers. If you have starting hours, then start on time. If you are going to offer selections, make sure the chef is there to prepare them when the customers are there. Sorry, I just gave Provence my last chance. I'll got to Bread and Company if I want breakfast or a coffee

I was robbed by Province!!!. Went to Province today at 11:30 am. Had two sandwiches to choose from and the other three slots where sandwiches should have been had NONE, asked the person at the counter who should have had on a hair net on why only two sandwiches and he said the truck left off a box. So I choose the crustlest quiche, salad and soup. YIKES. You could have bounced the quiche, it was bad. There was suppose to be spinach and goat cheese and red peppers!! I did locate the spinach on top but for the rest forget it!The salad was some greens with dressing and the curry coconut soup had some pieces of something in it that I could not chew. I then got some choc cake. Dry, dry, dry and tasteless. I spent $14.00. I was dissapointed, it was a complete waste of money and the food was horrible. Its sad because it used to be a great place to go. Not anymore. Dont get robbed like me.

I cannot believe it has become so bad... I have been a customer of Provence for fifteen years, ever since they opened in Nashville. I liked their bread, and how consistently good it was, their pastries were also great. I did not mind the somewhat hectic atmosphere and slow service, nor did I mind paying somewhat more for good food.

I have not stopped by Provence in Hillsboro village for a while so I decided to pay them a visit yesterday. The place looks a bit run down and the service is still slow. Now the food: the pastries look old and worst of all, the loaf of bread I bought was TERRIBLE! Over salted, dry, just awful. Grocery store bread can be better. I think I have to start looking for another bakery now.

Provence stole my money. Today at the Hillsboro location I paid for a lavender lemonade and they refused to give me my money back when they realized they didn't have anymore. If I could give zero stars I would because ethics are very important to me.
