In Short – Start your journey at the northern terminus off Highway 100 and before you get warmed up, you'll be crossing the majestic Highway 96 bridge. Points of interest on the way to Natchez include 10,000-year-old Native American burial mounds, Elvis Presley's Tupelo, Miss., birthplace and the site where Meriwether Lewis died and was dug up, only to be reburied. After passing through the state capital of Jackson, the Trace continues all the way to Natchez, Miss.
