Editorial Review for Pie n' Burger – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
This down-home diner recalls a simpler, gentler time when people actually preferred Formica to wood. Patrons crowd the counter, waiting for the waitress to turn their way. It's a bastion of lowered defenses, where finger licking is as common as wearing jeans. Plump burgers bundled in waxed paper ooze homemade Thousand Island dressing. There's also turkey and vegetarian burgers, as well as grilled chicken sandwiches. For desserts, it's all about apple pie with vanilla ice cream.

I ate here based on it being the editor’s choice for best hamburger. Not only was the service terrible, but also the hamburger was at best decent. The waitresses were rude and had terrible attitudes. It was as if I was inconveniencing them by being there. I had better service at a bus station food counter in Guatemala City when I was backpacking (and I almost got robbed there). As I sat there, I was thinking to myself…do I really have to leave a tip? I couldn’t tell you how the pie was because I was so turned off that I left after my overpriced burger. Now about the food…the burger is good…for 4 dollars. Not for almost 7. Best of LA? Are the editors of CitySearch smoking? This place couldn’t hold a candle to Paul’s in the East Village (2nd Ave) or BurgerMeister in SF. In-and-out makes a better burger. In fact I would heartily recommend Wolfe Burger, The Hat and The Bucket (all nearby) in a heartbeat . Why this place is popular is beyond me. Just because they use and old cash register and take cash only doesn’t make it good. Don’t believe the hype. This place is awful (i used a differnet word but Citysearch wouldn't allow it)
Pros: I dont know...I never have to go back...thats a good thing
Cons: Where to begin...overpriced, rude service, no parking, knowing that there are better places less than a mile away

Been to this place tonight food was OK, nothing spectacular, there is a lot better not so far from there. I really don't understand what the fuss is all about !! Service wasn't great either.
Pros: None
Cons: Service
