Editorial Review for Grand Ole Opry – by Craig Shelburne
In Short
After many decades--and venue changes--the Grand Ole Opry is still the stage aspiring country stars dream of playing on. On Fridays, Saturdays and often on Tuesdays, Nashville mainstays entertain tourists. Though these performances are also broadcast on the radio and the Internet, no visit is complete without catching a live show. The Opry House occasionally hosts gospel concerts or church conventions and sometimes you can catch free music on the Opry Plaza.

We have been several times to the Ryman and as always it was spectacular. The seating is the only drawback. But it is an old building. The bench style seating can get cramped depending on the girth of your neighbors. But the show makes up for that. As usual a great diversity of musical talent
Pros: show, history, location
Cons: seating

My first trip to the Opry was a several years back. I didn't know who was going to play that night. We were there for the radio show and they had a newcomer there that night. It was his first apperance and he sang "If Tomorrow Never Comes" (Garth Brooks), and I told my group, "That boy is going to be Big". I recommend the trip to anyone who loves country music as much as I do.
